Pink Stamper Design Team

I cannot believe I am leaving for vaca tomorrow and all I can think about is the My Pink Stamper's design call!  Wasn't going, thought I should pack then had an idea at the last minute, like usual!  We are visiting some friends and they have a cat.  I am being mentored by the gift master herself and I know she would not show up empty handed so I picked up a few kitty treats.  Can't just give present them in the Target bag, although the cat would like that just as much!  So, using the colors Robyn selected for the challenge, I whipped up a gift bag instead of rolling my undies and packing my shampoo.  I think the kitty will like it!  Hope you do too wink, wink, purr, purr!

Color Challenge

Tried to get my green thumb on today.  I had to work fast to beat the rain and I finished just in time!  After I dug thru the layers and layers of un-decomposed leaves that my husband tossed on in the fall and the sod that my son threw on after 'landscaping' ... I was done!  It's only a 6x6 garden but after days and days of rain, it was messy, muddy and not fun!  It's done so that a good thing!  I had no energy to clean so I thought I'd play a little ... here's what I made for the challenge over at Embellish Magazine.  In addition to the color challenge, you had to include a tag somewhere on the card.  I did a little searching and found this great little 99 cent stamp ... okay, it was his first time off the cling!  Poor thing was never used!!!  The Cardstock was from the DCWV Hippie Chick collection - the grey was actually a metallic shiny, just hard to see in the photo.  The pattern dot paper is K&Co.  I cut the scallop out with a Spellbinder Die.  The sentiment is fun!

I Am a Water Bender

Ever see Avatar, not the movie with the blue people but the kid's cartoon turned movie?  If you haven't, the story is about kids who can control earth elements.  Today, although I can't control it, I am definitely fighting my arch enemy Dr. Leak.  There is a dark cloud over my home (literally) and all is not peaceful.  I discovered a leak in my new kitchen cabinets that is coming from the upstairs bathroom.  Part of the cabinet is coming down tomorrow to see what can be done about that.   I try to catch up on my chores and Whap! Whammo!  Another leak under my dryer.  I am trying to use all my powers to send the water back to where it came but I am fighting a losing battle so I decided to drown my troubles in my scrap room for now ...

This card is comprised of a couple of challenges, other than the ones I face on a daily basis!

I Need Me Mojo ...


I'm trying to get back into my 'room' more often so I searching all my favorite challenge blogs to get some inspiration.  This week I'm using the sketch from Mojo Monday and the stying of Etsy Inspired,

So ... drumroll.... here's my combo ...

I used the houndstooth pattern from the new Couture paper pack from DCWV.  The flower and tag is from an old Making Memories set.  I used my Scor Pal to crease the flowers for texture.  Fun! Fun! Fun! 

Feels so good to spend a little time in my 'room'!!  

I fell in love with the color combo at Embellish Magazine blog this week.  The colors were so subtle but so spring!  I didn't have to dig too deep in my stash to find the colors to match ... I also got my Mojo on too!









How'd I do?

I used Bazzill Cardstock and K & Co pattern paper.  The image is from Crafty Secrets.  Love it!  I used ribbon from May Arts with a metal charm from Maya, an oldie but a goody! I've been into crinkling my paper lately so I just kinda pleated the paper and it turned out great!  I popped it on the bottom for 'effect'!!  I used a Martha punch on the bottom too!!!  Hope you like it!

This card was inspired by the Cr84fn (Create For Fun) weekly color challenge.  Here is the color inspiration:

Aren't these fun?  So springy!  Exactly what I need here!  It was still in the 30's walking to the bus stop this morning!  BRR!!!  Can we have a consistent 60 for a few days?  This winter just keeps on dragging!  Here's what I came up with using these colors!  Again, I went picking and found some old pattern paper that had all these colors and more.  I used the Smiley Cards cart for the cake and the quote bubble!  My bestie's baby is going to be freakin' fifteen this week so I'll send it to her!  She's my nemesis so she'll get a kick out of it!  I am loving popping the image from the shadow!  I couldn't find different sized googley eyes either.  I think it needs a ribbon or something along the bottom, what do you think??  Are my pix getting any better?  I'm working on it!  Thanks for checking it out!!!

Unity Challenge

The good folks over at Unity Stamp Co have a fun challenge going on this month ... create anything with a heart! I am trying to stay up to date - I've lowered my expectations of myself by not trying to 'get ahead'.  I made a card for my friends that have moved ... actually they are moving this week so I guess I am ahead.  They lived across the street from me, then five years ago they moved to Nevada to be closer to family and now they are moving to San Antonio for fun.  I had the idea to use this map paper that I found in my stash and when I dug it out, it was the midwest area, California, Nevada, etc.  Worked perfectly!  I used a couple of different monthly kits for the stamps.  I love how the chimney has a heart, that makes it work for this challenge!  Thanks for the challenge and keeping me on track!!!

Recipe for Me

I'd consider this both a mystery AND a masterpiece ... me.  Again with the challenges ... over at Scrapbook News & Review, the request was to do an 'all about me' page ... who likes talking about themselves let alone creating a scrapbook page for all the world to see!  I am not photogenic at all and the times I am in front of the camera instead of behind is usually when someone in my family wants to catch me sleeping or making an odd face like I just inhaled a grapefruit or something.  I instantly came up with the layout and theme (to take the focus off of me) then four hours later came up with the pictures.  Somehow 'Recipe for Me' popped into my head and the idea went from there ... I don't love how it turned out, looked better in my head but it's done and I feel good about that!  I love red so I chose that for the background.  Instead using regular measurements, I used terms like year, ton, countless ... in reality I am not one to follow a recipe and my life is kinda like that too.  Some days I wish had the recipe for life but other days when a dash of this and pinch of that get thrown in, it's just as sweet!  Now you know the 'recipe for me' ... what's yours?
