Black Friday Blitz

What's the record for Black Friday shopping?  I know we set a record!  Left the house at 4 am and didn't return until 8 pm!!!  Not too shabby!  Here was our route...

Kohls
Michaels
Hallmark
McDonalds (to refuel)
Walmart - at this point it had been open a long time and it was trashed!  Just wanted the $20 cartridges and they were out!
Target
Hobby Lobby (because they opened sssooo early!  an extra hour! So worth the wait tho)
HomeGoods
Bed Bath & Beyond
Ruby Tuesdays (they had just started serving lunch!  Most people were just finishing breakfast!)
Dropped off my daughter who couldn't hang with the old folks (she just had to go to work)
Went to another mall where there was a Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Kokopelli, William Sonoma, among a few other smaller stores ...

Not bad!  It was actually pretty productive!  It truely was ...

Turkey Treats

Remember a few weeks ago when I made my Ghost Bones and used the big marshmallows? I changed it up a bit for Thanksgiving and added peanuts and pistachios and changed it to 'turkey treats'. For some reason I had in my brain to say 'turkey trots' but I think that would definately give the wrong impression. We started our baking yesterday and Ange made some whoopie pies. The recipe only made 6 which is a good thing because they were yummy!!! A batch of pistachio cookies and raisin cookies out of the way. Just trying to figure out the plan for the rest of the meal!

The letters are made with some window cling that I purchased at Michaels a while ago.  I didn't know what to do with it at first but it has really come in handy!  I may have to pick up some more if I make it there black friday!  I can't remember what font I used.  When I use the gypsy, the names of cartridges just don't seem as important anymore!

Teacher Gifts

I think my name translated in another language means 'last minute' because it seems I'm always doing things at the last minute! Ange and I were in the kitchen again making these teacher turkey gifts the day before Thanksgiving break! I got this idea from Greenbean's Crafterole and thought it would be neat! We went to AC Moore to get some leaves and they had absolutely NO fall leaves of any sort in the store anywhere! Everything was Christmas! Now what a last minuter to do?!?! We did pick up some ivy and some other small greens and I plucked some colorful ones off the garland it had to make it look more fall. They turned out cute. Ange came up with the little poem and I did the turkey with the Quickutz. WHAT? Yes, the quickutz. Every once in a while I get the antiques out. It was fun but it made me appreciate my little bug even more! We had plenty of soap left so ange made her own designs. The teachers loved them. Whew! Nothing like the last minute! Okay, I am going to be prepared for Christmas, which is what, four weeks away! I can do it!

$20 mysteries

What's up with money these days?  Seems like when we get it, we can't keep our hands on!  My girlfriend was telling me how the other day when she did a self check out at the grocery store, she forgot to grab her change out of the slot!  No honorable citizen turned it in, of course.  Today, I had a $20 on the table and my kids (22 &10) decided to fight over it - they both won with half in each of their hands!  Bummer!  Now I gotta do a 911 on my twenty!  Precious $20!!  That's a lot of scrap supplies!  In my healing, I had to surf a bit and found this AWESOME idea!  SOOO doing it for Christmas!  Check it out ... it's a spool advent calendar!  Just something I made blog

Monday Mojo Masterpiece

Finally finished the card for Monday Mojo #164.  I got the latest stamp set Teacher's Pet at My Favorite Things and wanted to get a jump on holiday gift cards.  Loved the sketch but LOVE the stamps.  It was part of a kit that included a 6x6 paper pack from Crate Paper.  The solid cardstock is Bazzill of course.    I had fun figuring out the paper piecing for this one so that I could leave her hands it tact!  There was a super cute book stamp that I used on the inside of the card and the adorable apple I stamped on the envelope!   Enjoy!!!

Cosmo Masterpiece

Update: YEAH!!!  These cards were published over at Practical Scrappers!  Thanks for picking them Practical gals!  Check them out at Practical Scrappers.  There is also an awesome video on organizing scraps.  I am so doing that!!  Enjoy!

I  love the Cosmo Cricket line Material Girl!!!  The paper is so ADORABLE!  I Love it!!!  My Aunt had a quilt show a few weeks ago so I used this line to make some cards.  For these i used the patterned double sided paper, stickers and added some rub ons.
The double sided paper makes the inside just as fun as the outside!

I completed the 12x12 Step Program!

What an AWESOME weekend!  My Scrap Therapy crop is over but I still feel energized by all the creativity!  We had close to 60 ladies scrapping together.  The hotel was awesome, the food was great, the space was the best ever and all the scrappers were so laid back and easy to please!  There was only one minor glitch with the tables but other than that it was perfection.  Everyone got therapy of some sort - whether massage therapy or therapy of the liquid kind!  I thoroughly enjoy planning and organizing these crops.  They give me a chance to make some new friends and rekindle relationships with some wonderful 'existing' (not old) friends.  OH yeah, and I actually got some scrapping done!  Only four months until the next one!

Retail Therapy . . .

The wing album I altered for the Ovarian Cancer walk we did.

Today's Mystery

Today's Mystery ... tell me how that guy on tv makes it look so simple .... "Honey, here's you mocha chocha latte grande with a double shot love and a pinch of yadda yadda ..."  Mocha Schmocha I'm going to Dunkin!

Not off to a good start but only 24 hours until I leave for my weekend crop!  I'm running on adrenaline so who needs caffeine!  Lots to scratch off my list today, including finding a file on the computer ... another mystery!  I feel like Nancy Drew some days!
